Flow Counts Down To Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
The magic will begin 50 days from now, and Flow Sports – the Home of Sports in the Caribbean – is all set to deliver the most comprehensive coverage of the Olympic Games the people of the region have ever seen. As the ‘official Broadcast Partner of Rio 2016 Olympic Games,’ Flow is the only provider to offer a high definition, multi-channel, multi-platform Olympic experience to the more than 7 million people across its 15 Caribbean markets. Beginning on August 5th, sports fans can catch the live Olympic programming on Flow that, on average, will run from 8:00am to 8:00pm ET until the Games wrap up on August 21st.
“We are excited that today marks just 50 days until the magic of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games begins,” said John Reid, CEO of Cable and Wireless. “As the official telecom partner to the Caribbean Association of National Olympics Committees (CANOC), we will deliver the highest-quality HD broadcast of the Games across multiple platforms, enabling our customers to view the games not only on TV but on their mobile devices, so they can catch the magic of the games whenever and wherever they want.”
As the countdown continues and the excitement builds, Flow will roll out a series of Olympics consumer promotions. In fact, Flow has already launched a regional “text-to-win” competition, giving customers from across the region the chance to win the “Ultimate Rio 2016 Olympic Games Tour.” Six lucky winners will be recipients of the Gold Tour Package, which includes tickets for two to the men’s and women's 100 metre finals among other Olympic events plus guided tours of Rio de Janeiro.
During its yearlong countdown to the Olympics, Flow has also focused on the development of the region’s athletes and future Olympians. This includes signing regional endorsements with several Caribbean athletes - who are featured in Flow’s Olympic Games Campaign – including Olympic Gold medalist Kirani James http://livestream.com/FlowLive/WithKirani (Grenada); athletic hopefuls Khalifa St Fort (Trinidad and Tobago); Delano Williams https://youtu.be/lXybmrYhncM (Turks and Caicos); star hurdler Jaheel Hyde (Jamaica); and 2015 Pan Am Games gold medalist, high-jumper, Levern Spencer (St. Lucia).
Flow has also given its customers opportunities to get up close and personal with their favorite athletes via webisodes that track Flow Ambassadors’ Olympic journeys, which so far have featured James, St. Fort, Spencer, Hyde & Williams. These insights into our regional athletes’ quest for Gold are supported by 30-minute live Q&As, which involve an integrated chat platform that allows fans to ask questions and interact with their hometown heroes. Fans can catch up with their favourite athletes on social media. Going forward, Flow will continue its emphasis on the athletes via social media engagement campaigns, as well as through other exclusive content that will be available to customers throughout the course of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
“Flow’s goal is to make this the best-yet Olympic Games experience for our customers, fans and athletes across the region,” said Reid. “Flow’s initiatives, coupled with our world-class, around-the-clock HD coverage of the Games, will surely make the Rio 2016 Olympic Games the most engaging and memorable experience yet for sports fans around the region.”
In preparation for the magical moments that lie ahead, we at Flow ask our customers to join us in support of our athletes and to share in the excitement as we get ready to Flow to Rio – just 50 days away!
