Flow Sports Agrees CONCACAF Caribbean Broadcast Deal Covering Multiple International Championships

Flow named as title sponsor of the CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championships

The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) and Flow Sports, the “Home of Sports in the Caribbean”, have agreed to a multi-year deal for broadcast rights to multiple Confederation Championships, greatly expanding the broadcast reach of CONCACAF’s tournaments across the Caribbean. The partnership also names Flow, the consumer brand of Cable & Wireless in the Caribbean, as title sponsor of the newly launched CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship.

At the core of the deal, the Pan-Caribbean broadcaster secured English-language rights across its Caribbean footprint for the upcoming editions of the jewels of regional club championships: the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, the Scotiabank CONCACAF League, and the newly-launched Flow CONCACAF Caribbean Club Championship. Customers can expect to view the matches on the current line-up of Flow Sports channels.

“The integration of our regional assets and platforms to benefit all of the Confederation is a key pillar of our ONE CONCACAF Vision,” said CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani. “This partnership with Flow Sports – both in terms of the expanded broadcasts of CONCACAF tournaments to the Caribbean and the support for the new, expanded Caribbean Club Championship – is the result of our collective efforts and additional fuel for the growth of the game in the region.”

“This is exciting news for avid sports fans and what’s more, it’s a big win for the continued development of football in the CONCACAF region. As the “Home of Sports” Flow Sports is truly changing the game in terms of expanding football programming across the Caribbean to incorporate multiple Confederation Championships and an unmatched catalogue of premium sports content,” said Garry Sinclair, Caribbean President, C&W Communications. He added that this new deal with CONCACAF – another great asset – underscores Flow’s commitment to invest in advancing the region through the development of sports as well as other avenues.

The agreement also includes other CONCACAF tournaments during the term of the deal. Additional terms of the deal were not disclosed.

CONCACAF’s two new Caribbean club competitions– the Flow Caribbean Club Championship and the accompanying Caribbean Club Shield -- will feature 20 clubs from 16 Caribbean Member Associations. The competitions will be divided in two tiers, the Championship for fully professional clubs, and the Shield for clubs from Caribbean leagues still working towards fully-licensed, professional status.

Together, the new regional qualifying championships will serve as the Caribbean qualifying tournament for the Scotiabank CONCACAF League and the Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League, and will open the door for wider participation of Caribbean clubs in Confederation championships.

The agreement with Flow Sports includes the following Caribbean territories (listed in alphabetical order): Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Bonaire, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Cuba, Curacao, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guadaloupe, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Martinique, Montserrat, Netherlands Antilles, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Kitts and Nevis, St Martin, St Vincent and the Grenadines, St. Lucia, Suriname, Trinidad &Tobago, Turks & Caicos.
