Cable & Wireless Communications reported positive results for the 2012/13 financial year with EBITDA ahead of the prior year and expectations. Mobile data revenue grew strongly across all markets. There were more mobile customers in Jamaica, further operational progress in The Bahamas and our Panama business increased its EBITDA by 8% in the second half of the year.
Improving Public Services
Our social telecoms solutions help governments to reduce the cost and improve the efficiency of public services delivery. In Panama we have recently introduced an online system to help hospitals manage everything from their ambulances to their air conditioning, ensuring equipment remains well maintained.
A proud history
Cable & Wireless Communications has a proud history providing telecommunications services across the globe. Our Group began as a series of telecommunications companies which were founded in Britain in the 1860s.
At the heart of communities
We strive to make a positive impact in the communities in which we operate. In Panama we sponsor the National Oratory Contest, a nationwide public speaking competition for schoolchildren.
In our 2011/12 Annual Report and Annual Review publications we detail excellent performances in The Bahamas and resilient efforts in some of our other businesses, as well as increasing demand for our mobile data and enterprise services. We also continued re-shaping our Group last year.
What we do
We are a full-service telecoms operator, providing mobile, broadband, fixed line, TV and enterprise services - and keeping our customers connected, wherever they are.
Our businesses operate at the heart of their communities, providing support in line with our four responsibility principles.
