Flow has officially launched its 5G mobile network in Jamaica.
The official introduction of 5G follows substantial investment by Liberty Caribbean in modernizing Jamaica’s digital infrastructure. Over the past several years, the company has invested significantly in mobile network upgrades and spectrum acquisition, creating a stronger foundation for advanced connectivity, enhanced network resilience and future innovation.
Flow’s 5G network is expected to deliver speeds up to three times faster than previous generations of mobile technology, while providing improved performance, greater reliability and expanded network capacity. These capabilities will support a growing range of connectivity-driven applications for consumers and businesses, including real-time monitoring, logistics management, cloud-based services and other emerging digital solutions.
During the initial phase of the rollout, 5G services will be available to Flow postpaid and business customers, with access expanding progressively to additional customer segments as network deployment continues.
The rollout is supported by a comprehensive network modernization programme completed over the past seven months. Enhancements include the introduction of Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) for improved indoor and roaming connectivity, Voice over LTE (VoLTE) for high-definition voice calls alongside high-speed data access, increased network resilience through generators deployed at more than 60 percent of mobile sites, and Direct-to-Cell technology to extend connectivity and strengthen emergency communications capabilities.
Charles Manus, Senior Director of Liberty Business, highlighted the transformative potential of the new network for Jamaica’s business community, describing 5G as a catalyst for innovation that will enable organisations to operate more efficiently, compete more effectively and unlock new opportunities for growth.

The launch of 5G in Jamaica represents one of the most significant advancements in the country’s telecommunications landscape in recent years.
“5G is an enabler of new ways of working, new ways of competing and new ways of growing,” said Manus. “From remote monitoring and real-time inventory management to vehicle tracking, telemedicine and faster, more secure financial transactions, this technology will empower Jamaican businesses of all sizes to innovate and thrive in a digital-first economy.”
To fully benefit from the enhanced network experience, Flow is encouraging customers to become “5G Ready” by ensuring they have both a compatible 5G-enabled device and a SIM card capable of supporting 5G and VoLTE services.
Customers can check the status of their SIM card by dialling *555# from any Flow mobile device. To support the transition, Flow is offering complimentary SIM card replacements at its retail locations islandwide, along with competitively priced 5G-enabled devices and flexible payment options designed to make upgrading more accessible and affordable.
