
SID-IP Engineer-Colombia (Full Time)
Location: Latin America
Job purpose:
The SID IP Implementation Engineer is in charge of leveraging the revision, implementation and delivery process for all projects involving Managed Networking services. It ensures the successful completion of all projects meeting CWC quality standards and customer satisfaction. It is responsible for the implementation of projects regarding customer’s managed IP network which shall include but is not limited to the following:
Key Accountabilities:
•Assist with the installation and configuration of customer network components which include:
oRouters
oSwitches
oWireless Access Points
oWireless Controllers
•Perform all test protocols needed to ensure the operability and customer satisfaction of all networking projects.
•Provide support in the integration of all new devices and services to the Customer network.
•Ensure all services in the solutions comply with the customer’s expectations.
•Provide up to date documentation of all projects which include topologies, low level designs, test results, among others.
•Participate and provide support in maintenance windows scheduled for customer traffic migration to their new platforms.
•Provide customer care services by conducting fault isolation identificationand resolution of problems during the implementation and testing phase of every project.
•Provide knowledge transfer to customers and/or other members of the group.
•Participate in the hand off process of networking projects to CWC Customer Service Center.
•Develop internal procedures in order to standardize implementations.
•Assist our Project Management Office in the execution phase of all managed networking projects.
•Assist our Presales department in designs reviews upon request.
•Participate in internal and customer kickoffs for every project.
•Provide review for all Service Orders related to networking projects managed by CWC.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Preferred education/ qualifications:
Knowledge:
•The IP Engineer must have the following Education and Work Experience / Requirements
•Possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Telecommunications; Electrical Engineering or in any related field associated to Networking.
•Minimum of five years of experience related to Service Provider or Enterprise operations, implementation or network engineering.
•Possess CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) or JNCIA (Juniper Network Certified Associate) or equivalent experience.
Skills & Abilities:
•Strong knowledge on routing and switching of Cisco, Juniper is a plus.
•Knowledge in command line for Juniper and Cisco hardware in Enterprise Level.
•Excellent knowledge of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol), OSPF (Open Shortest PathFirst) and static routing.
•Knowledge in Layer 2 protocols such as STP and REP.
•Knowledge in high availability protocols such as HSRP/VRRP/LACP.
•Knowledge in MPLS VPNs such as L3VPN, L2VPN and VPLS.
•Knowledge of wireless networking and the 802.11 protocol standards.
•Knowledge in configuration for Access Points and Controllers preferably in Ruckus and Fortinet.
•Strong customer service skills, with the ability to work and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
•Strong abilities for teamwork and working to meet deadlines.
•Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English and Spanish.
