Our business units
Our business operates using a number of brands which are well known, respected and trusted in local markets.
Cable & Wireless Panama
Cable & Wireless Panama (CWP) is the country’s leading full service telecoms operator and one of its most respected organisations. We have introduced a range of world class telecoms technology to Panama including the first fully digital pay TV service, and award winning internet data centres through which we provide a range of managed services for companies and the Government. We have also pioneered the use of business-to-government services to improve the way public services are delivered across Central America. We are committed to contributing towards the social and economic development of Panama and support major programmes including the National Oratory Contest, the annual Telethon and projects that help close the digital divide.
Our Panama mobile brand, Mas Movil is the market leader in the country’s highly competitive four player market. The fastest growing part of this business is mobile data, which we have made affordable for our customers by launching innovative price plans. Mas Movil is a major supporter of sport in Panama, including the national soccer team.
Created in 2009, Mas TV Digital was Panama’s first fully digital TV service. We broadcast 260 channels (52 in high definition). The channels provide varied programming for the whole family. +TV Digital’s Channel 1 also broadcasts Video On Demand content accessible 24 hours a day, including films, children's programmes and documentaries.
Flow (formerly LIME) is the leading full service telecoms operator across the Caribbean and continues to roll-out new services such as high speed fixed and mobile data and TV. Our work to improve life in the Caribbean extends to our involvement in the community. There are several initiatives geared towards giving back. One such initiative is Flow Skool Aid. This is done yearly and school children benefit from access to free haircuts, health, eye and dental checks as well as back to school supplies.
The Bahamas Telecommunications Company (BTC) became part of CWC Group in 2011 and is one of the most popular companies in the country with 90,000 Facebook fans – around one third of the population. We are the country’s only full service telecoms operator and are currently the exclusive provider of mobile and LTE services. We play an active part in the local community through initiatives like the annual BTC Blood Drive, which the company has been organising since 2006, and the Junkanoo parades, the showcase for Bahamian culture and heritage.
Cable & Wireless Seychelles
We can trace our roots in the Seychelles back to 1893 when the islands were first connected to the world telecommunications network. We were subsequently the first to introduce fixed line, mobile, and most recently high speed mobile data and fibre broadband. Through the Cable & Wireless Seychelles Foundation, established in 2005, we address broader community goals by supporting causes like marine conservation, rebuilding after natural disasters and activities to support local disabled people. The Seychelles is outside of our core region and so our business there is managed as an independent company.
